Symptomatic treatment of uncompromising coughs.
Dosage DEXIR Adult 0.3% Syrup bottle of 125 ml
Symptomatic treatment should be short (a few days).
In adults and children over 15 years, the usual daily dosage is 60 to 120 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide to be divided into 3 or 4 doses, or one to two teaspoons three to four times a day.
Do not exceed two teaspoons per serving and eight teaspoons per day.
The catch will be spaced at least four hours apart.
- Respiratory insufficiency, whatever its degree,
- cough of the asthmatic,
- child under 15,
- treatment with non-selective and selective A MAOs by extrapolation (see interactions).
- breastfeeding: dextromethorphan passes into the milk; some cases of hypotonia and respiratory pauses have been reported in infants, after ingestion by mothers of other central antitussives at supratherapeutic doses. As a result, taking this medication is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
Due to the presence of sucrose, this drug is contraindicated in case of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
Taking alcoholic beverages during treatment is not recommended.

Possibility of constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, bronchospasm, allergic skin reactions.
