Pollen allergy

Allergy to pollen ... one should rather write: allergy to pollens (plural). More and more French people are hampered every year by pollens, these small particles that allow the reproduction of plants.

Runny nose, itchy eyes, reduced smell, itchy and sometimes tired ... embarrassing symptoms that can reveal a pollen allergy mainly at the arrival of spring.

Pollen allergy or allergic rhinitis, more commonly known as "hay fever" is usually seasonal, since it usually recurs with the arrival of spring.

All age groups are affected by pollen allergy, although there is a predominance among adolescents and young adults. But it happens that some people become allergic to pollen much later.

In allergology, there are 3 families of pollens:

  • grass pollen pollen;
  • tree pollen (for which there are many families);
  • grass pollen.
